Political stance
At SWAMP, we are committed to making our materials accessible to a diverse audience, regardless of economic background. Our mission is rooted in promoting diversity and ensuring a wide range of artistic perspectives are represented. We consciously choose not to judge art as inherently “good” or “bad” nor do we scrutinize the backgrounds of our visitors, as we believe in the importance of an open, inclusive environment. Therefore, we cannot take responsibility for the content of any artwork created with materials provided by SWAMP or for how ethically those materials are used.
However, our commitment to inclusivity is balanced by ethical responsibility. We categorically refuse to partner with institutions, projects, or people that support or promote military aggression such as the occupation of Palestine or the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Additionally, we do not engage with organizations affiliated with the governmental entities of Israel and Russia, reflecting our opposition to the appalling acts of violence committed by these entities.
We believe that the urgency of climate change far outweighs the preservation of art in its traditional sense and we firmly support initiatives like Elokapina and other environmental movements that advocate for ecological safeguarding and disregard the means and methods of their actions. We stand with those who choose to prioritize the planet, acknowledging that without a stable, livable environment, the very foundation upon which art thrives is at risk.
SWAMP is an Apartheid-Free Zone.
